HBS is a major force in the delivery of business process solutions to the UK public and private sectors employing around 5000 people across the UK. It wanted to add some interactivity to their Intranet site, something that would be of interest to all their staff across the country. WebWand came up with the idea of adding a classified advert system.

The challenge was to make the management of the system as easy and as least time-consuming as possible. WebWand provided HBS with a product that virtually maintains itself. The system has the following main features:

• Web-based item submission
• Email to vendor to confirm submission for security
• Optional item approval via System Manager
• Item editing and subsequent re-approval
• Vendors can renew items, remove items, or mark items as sold
• Automatic removal and deletion of items at end of display period or when removed or marked as sold

Once the system was installed it soon became one of the most popular pages on the HBS Intranet.
