November 1, 2007 - Newark, Delaware USA and Kettering Northamptonshire UK - WebWand, a leading provider of Web services, announces the launch of My Sugar Level - an online visual management tool for diabetics.
My Sugar Level is an original WebWand development growing out of an idea by Stephen Taylor who is one of WebWand's owners. Stephen is a Type II diabetic and he had the idea for My Sugar Level when he was told that he had to take his blood glucose levels four times a day. "I didn't know what to do with all the results, it as so difficult to see any trends in what was just a heap of numbers. I created a spreadsheet for my results and plotted a few graphs. Pretty soon it was very clear that I had a problem with high readings in the morning. I took my graph to my doctor and he adjusted my medication accordingly." Stephen recalled. "It was then that I had the Idea for My Sugar Level." He continued. "If I needed to see graphs of my levels then so would others." My Sugar Level allows members to log many of the factors that affect the health of diabetics. These include:
Each entry may have a comment added to it and is fully editable. The results are presented on animated interactive graphs which allow users to drill down and access more information. Currently, subscription rates are $19.99 or £11.75 (inc VAT) depending on the subscriber's location. To help spread the word people are encouraged to become My Sugar Level affiliates receiving $5.00 or £2.50 for every successful recommendation. WebWand also places great emphasis on ethical marketing to ensure that spam and other inappropriate marketing techniques are not employed by affiliates.
